HOST OF THE HSBC CHAMPIONS tournament

Located near the Sheshan National Forest Park and only 20 minutes from downtown Shanghai, this 18-hole private residential community golf course has quickly established itself as the premier golf club in Shanghai.

In designing the course, N&H moved over 1.5 million cubic meters of earth to create individual valleys and dramatic settings for each hole. The classic Donald Ross course Oak Hill was the inspiration for the design with downhill tee shots and approach shots to elevated greens.

The golf course features over 10,000 trees with two of the signature holes, the short par 4 16th and par 3 17th playing around a 50-meter-deep rock quarry. Fairways, tees and roughs have been planted with seashore paspalum and the greens with Penn A1 bent grass.

The clubhouse and villas have been designed in a Tuscany style and is some of the most expensive real estate in the city. Sheshan is home to China’s premier golf tournament, the US$ 5.5 Million HSBC Champions event, which attracts the world's best golfers every year in November.
